Summary:
The Merchandise Manager is responsible for the merchandise assortment pricing and POS item maintenance within the company's stores.
This position will implement a comprehensive pricing plan and structure by working with the Sr.
Merchandise Manager, E-Commerce team, field sales organization, store managers, and distribution partner.
It is expected that the Merchandise Manager will supply advice and assistance to the Sr.
Merchandise Manager and Field Sales Team as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Manages implementation of merchandise pricing, including list price, alternate list price, and implementation of promotional pricing.
Periodically conducts and evaluates competitive retail price comparisons.
Manage all price updates and general pricing integrity across company stores.
Develops customer driven product assortments (based on markets) that support strategic goals while ensuring the merchandise selection matches customer needs.
Provides collaborative guidance, direction and support to the field sales organization and store managers in the development of promotional plans.
Monitors performance versus plan to identify trend opportunities.
Partner with appropriate All-Wall.
com colleagues to ensure pricing is appropriately aligned.
Partners with IT and Finance to create reports and monitor margin performance versus plan to identify trend and improvement opportunities.
Develops and maintains relationships with vendors to maintain current and accurate direct ship pricing files.
Periodically visits stores to seek feedback and evaluate merchandise pricing, weighs individual store needs, and incorporates findings into companies pricing plan.
Ensures promotional execution accuracy (pricing, etc.
) Ensures merchandise mix balances quantity, quality and price consistent with company and individual market requirements Attends relevant trade shows, markets and events to observe market trends, gather product information, selects merchandise and establish business relationships with viable vendors.
Provides merchandising and pricing guidance for the company's retail focused internet sales programs.
Provides POS support and guidance to the Customer Service Team.
Other projects and duties as assigned.
This position will require up to 10% travel.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 5-7 years hardlines/retail buying, negotiating and merchandising experience highly preferred or relevant Ames store experience.
Demonstrated Leadership and decision-making skills.
Strong Merchandising, product, and analytical skills.
Proficient in the use of desktop applications and Windows-based programs (Excel and PowerPoint) is preferred.
Retail math literacy and the application of such concepts to daily operations is required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as departmental reports and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
