Job Description
SUMMARY
Perform Design Verification and Test of ARRIS products. Provide general technical support to all areas associated with Design Verification and Test.

DUTIES
Resolve technical problems associated with test, test integration, test automation, and test development.
Communicate test status, issues, & results both verbally and in writing.
Maintain test requirement specifications and documents.
Conduct technical presentations/demonstrations.
Perform evaluation and qualification of components and vendor supplied sub-circuits and/or systems.
Mentor and supervise other engineers on an as needed basis.
Provide automation of test platforms and firmware load evaluation.
Provide Customer Product Qualification amd DOCSIS Certification support.
Required Skills
Qualifications/Skills/Abilities - Minimum Requirements, indicate preferred as applicable
Formal Education: BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required.
Advanced degree (MSEE) preferred.
Experience (type & duration): Minimum of 10 years relevant experience, preferred. Minimum of 5 years experience developing automated test platforms using Labview required.

Experience with some or all of the following technologies: WiFi (802.11a,b,g,n,ac) testing; Ethernet (802.3) PHY-Layer testing; USB 2.0 PHY-Layer testing; DOCSIS 3.0 PHY-Layer testing; Radiated Immunity testing; Telephony (TR-57) testing; Power System testing; MoCA 1.1 or 2.0 Compliance testing.

Skills:
Hands-on experience with related laboratory test equipment. Familiarity with spectrum analyzers; signal and function generators; logic analyzers, oscilloscopes; surge generators, ESD guns, RF test equipment, etc.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated technical knowledge of the following is preferred:
Telecommunications products; Telcordia TR-57 requirements and test procedures; test experience with IEEE 802.11 PHY-Layer specifications; test experience with MoCA compliance test specifications; PHY-Layer test experience with DECT 6.0; test experience with DOCSIS 3.0 PHY-Layer specifications & ATPs; USB 2.0 requirements and test procedures; systems integration related to test platform automation and development.
Normal office and laboratory environments. Incumbent may need to wear safety equipment. Travel to other locations as required.
