ACCOUNTING MANAGER
(North) Atlanta Metropolitan Area

Position Description:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for all financial and accounting functions for the company. This includes overseeing and administering the company agency management system (Applied) and its accounting and bookkeeping functions, preparing monthly financial statements and the reporting of company financials, budgets and variances to company management and shareholders. The Accounting Manager reports directly to the President & CEO and works closely and collaboratively with company operations and quality control leaders on financial, reporting, staff work procedures and other matters impacting the financial performance of the company. Provides leadership and also directly performs those functions necessary to ensure that proper and accurate accounting and financial results are generated. Recommends and implements necessary changes to work procedures to ensure accounting and finance best practices are followed.
? Prepares monthly financial statements and budget variances with explanations
? Develops budgets and forecasts
? Manages and administers human resource functions, payroll and employee benefits
? Responsible for all company banking activity, manages and reconciles all company accounts
? Oversees all receivables, collections, and administers all company payables
? Controls billing and issuing company codes in agency management system and in conjunction with quality control and operational leaders, ensures management information and reporting capabilities are appropriate
? Provides management information reports and analysis, as requested
? Prepares Pro forma financial statements for potential agency acquisition prospects and assists in performing financial due diligence, as necessary
? Tracks all company fixed assets
? Administers company expense reimbursements and reimbursement policy
? Oversees facilities and third party IT, telephone, utility and other vendors
Qualifications / Requirements:
? 4 year college degree in accounting or finance, risk management and insurance industry work experience is required
? Must posses and demonstrate a solid understanding of insurance agency / brokerage workflows, processes and accounting
?
? Superior proficiency with Applied agency management system is critical, knowledge of AMS is a plus
? Strong time management discipline and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, regardless of complexity
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Outstanding organizational skills and a solid detail orientation (but with the ability to also see the big picture)
? High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and the internet, advanced Excel skills are required
? Drive, determination and a strong focus on results are essential
? Must possess a strong sense of urgency, demonstrate a willingness to hold others accountable and be committed to achieving success in their own career
? Must hold (or have the ability to hold) Georgia Property / Casualty and Surplus Lines insurance licenses
? Experience in implementing or working with an electronic (automated) and paperless agency environment is a plus
